Floor Plan View Range

Users can access the view range with just a few clicks.

Set a level and a height offset for each of these parameter. If the above circumstances cannot be fullfilled follow these steps to exclude the floor slab. The view range is a set of horizontal planes that control the visibility and display of objects in a plan view. First the floor plan or ceiling plan must be opened using the project browser.

Set cut plane to 4 0 1220 mm. In a floor plan view the key parameters are cut plane and bottom. But when you open the floor plan you can t see the windows. The reason why we can t see it is that they are placed above the cut plane of the plan s view range.

The floor plan cut the model at elevation 1200 mm but the windows sill height are at 1700 mm. Use the view range every plan view has a property called view range also known as a visible range. The top and bottom clip planes represent the topmost and bottommost portion of the view range. The view range button must be clicked to access the view range.

In plan view click view menu view properties. Everything between the cut. Everything cut by the pink line like in the image below will display in thick lines. Click the edit button for the view range parameter.

Once the floor plan or ceiling plan is open the view range button becomes available in the properties panel see figure 1. Enter a value for both the bottom offset under primary range and the level offset under view depth that is more than 4 feet from the floor or slab. For plan views choose view properties view range and set top to level above with an offset setting of 0 0 0 mm. For example to establish a view range that ensures visibility of objects for a first floor plan view follow these steps.

Go to the floor plan view and click in the view range menu in the instance properties.
